Request to separate Call of Duty from Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard
There have been some changes in Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard as the UK's Competition Authority (CMA) intervened with an interim proposal to remove Call of Duty from the deal.
According to VGC, the reason for this proposal, which was demanded by (CMA), is that the acquisition will negatively affect the games market in the United Kingdom, as the prices of games will rise and the options will decrease, and for this reason the authority will resort only to the option of stripping the deal. Among the possibilities that will occur are:
selling part of the company that It has dealings
with Call of Duty.
sale of Activision division of Activision Blizzard.
sale of both Activision and Blizzard Division.
the transaction may be cancelled.
